Yet Effective Homemade Insect Traps Sometimes we
can turn the insects' desire for food into a trap. Your garden can
become a deadly trap for certain insects and yet not be a hazard to
you, your family, or beneficial insects. We can accomplish this
simply by making the trap attractive to the pest insect. Your
vegetables and flowers, because of the color of their foliage,
attract certain insects.
Barriers That Keep Pests
Away From Your Garden (Part 1) Using barriers to
prevent pests from reaching plants is one of the simplest, oldest,
and most effective ways to prevent damage. Most of the methods for

Power! Gardeners have one of the most challenging
pastimes of all hobbyists. Other hobbies are usually under the
control of one person and not subject to the various natural

stitchers don’t have to fear wild animals coming and devouring
their work (unless they have a cat with a gigantic appetite).

Hares at Bay I had come home from work, ready to
take a taste of the glorious head of broccoli that I had had grown.
When I arrived, I found it chewed down to a small green nub poking
out of the mulch. Apparently, a family of rabbits had taken it upon
themselves to make a feast out of my work. Words cannot describe
the ire that I felt toward the hideous beasts. And so, as is my
Constitutional right, I took up my arms and stood guard to defend
my property against the invading hare force.
