Garden Weeds in a Wide Variety

Gardens are beautiful places where people go to seek tranquility and peace, not garden weeds. Strolling through a well-maintained garden makes all of life’s troubles seem to disappear. Though on the surface, the garden may appear in good condition, lurking underneath the soil is another story. Weeds invade every garden and take away some of its beauty. Gardeners struggle everyday to keep the garden in good condition. There are many different types of garden weeds, which have been removed in different ways.

Typical weeds found in a garden are Canada thistle, dandelions, crab grass, and wild violet. These weeds kill other plants by using up nutrients in the soil and pushing their roots out of the ground so that the plant does not get the water it needs to survive. Garden weeds multiply very quickly and can take over a garden in a matter of weeks. It is important to constantly weed the garden in order to maintain a nice appearance. Some weeds are easier to get rid of than others.

Wild violet, for example, can be removed from the ground very easily by pulling out the weed along with its root. Other garden weeds, like Canada thistle, have to be removed using a small trowel because its roots are so embedded in the ground and wrapped around other plants. Gardeners need to be careful not to kill plants when trying to remove the weeds.

Garden weeds are the reason why many people do not like gardening. They enjoy putting in new plants, but do not like fighting with weeds. There are many different types of weed killers on the market that are good for smaller gardens. Gardeners need to keep the spray away from the plants. In larger gardens, sprays are not practical since there are too many plants. The only alternative is to get rid of the weeds by hand.
