Pollard Willow Tree: Widely Considered One of the Most Beautiful Features of Holland

The pollard willow tree is one of the most popular species of this tree, not to mention one of the most beautiful. The pollard willow tree has soft wood, and lives for approximately 50 years. It is most often found near large bodies of water; and if you are thinking about planting one, you should try and keep it near a large source of water.

The pollard willow tree is most common in Holland, and the people there have detailed it as one of the best features of the country. The bark of a pollard willow tree is brown, grey, and green, and has a very distinct tint to it. The leaves of this tree are smooth, and it is not very big around. In fact, you could easily wrap your arms around this tree.

The most important thing to remember out a pollard tree is that it needs water. This tree will not be able to survive unless it is around a large body of water from which it can get what it needs.  In other words, this tree would never be able to make it in a forest, or in a city setting.

The wood that comes from the tree is used for a number of different reasons. They include: baskets, art work, and wooden shoes. The wood from this tree is has no odor to it, and it has also been known to be used in making tea, which is called febrifugal.

This willow tree is one of the most beautiful specimens that you will find in all of Holland.  Even though you can only find it near the water, it is still one of the most popular trees around. But remember, if you are planning on planting one of these trees, do so near water so that it can live a long and grow tall.
